Round Swazi Pot candle

Fair trade Swazi candles – in unique beer pot shapes

Enjoy and re-use

Did you know that our wonderful fair-trade candles for 45 hours, and that you can re-use them?

They’re made from two types of wax, with the external patterned wax frame being extremely hard and durable. This frame holds its shape, so you can enjoy your stunning candle time and time again by putting a tea light or small candle inside!

When re-using, we recommend burning the candle down to one-third of its height in order to keep its shape.

Did you know?

These are shaped after the traditional drinking beer pots in eSwatini which were made from local clays – they are still made and used to this day.

Each candle in our collection has been expertly crafted by professional candle-makers in the mountain kingdom of Eswatini, so you can be sure of their exceptional quality. As they’re handmade, no two candles will be exactly the same.

The artisans shape these candles using the ancient ‘millefiori’ technique, which was perfected in Italy to create the finest glass sculptures. This technique was then translated into use with wax.

As all candles are handmade, please expect some differences in sizing and patterns.

About Swazi Candles – Proud founding members of SWIFT (Swaziland Fair Trade Association)

Swazi Candles was started in an old cowshed of a former dairy in 1982 by two South African art graduates. The little workshop soon gained a great reputation for producing unique candles and started attracting many visitors.

The vibrancy of the workshop, uniqueness of the products and the skill of the artisans resulted in Swazi Candles becoming one of Eswatini’s premier tourist attractions. Today, its unique candles are being treasured by ethical consumers world-wide.

I just love this candle! I got the white with orange border and the glow that you get is very warm and inviting. The fact that you can continue to use it forever by just placing tealights is another reason why you should buy it. I was so impressed that I got it for Xmas gifts for my family and they have all given it rave reviews.
